QUICK LINKS TO AUTHOR SERVICES

Author Web Sites

It is more important than ever that authors have a presence on the web. City Desk provides stylish and functional Web sites for authors. These are straightforward author Web sites, uncluttered by extraneous flash elements that better serve other media outlets. All sites are designed to reflect the look and feel of the book product and to resonate with the book's target market(s). Two pricing options are available for author Web sites:

BASIC PLAN

A practical and affordable option. Includes the following pages: Home, About the Book, About the Author, Events, and Contact. Sites can also include Reviews, Links, downloadable excerpts & downloadable photos, and any other pages you choose. Every page will contain a "Buy the Book" link that directs customers to the book's Amazon page in a new browser window. Under this plan, authors must secure domain names and server space (City Desk can advise authors on how to do this) as well as develop all of the content to be used on the site. This plan includes free updates on the events page for up to three months after the book's publication. Cost: $400 for initial design + $50 per web page

FULL SERVICE PLAN

This plan develops a more engaging online experience for potential customers. In addition to basic pages, City Desk will work with the author on developing an arena that provides interactive, exclusive content that will draw readers into the culture of the book and, ideally, become a destination site among people interested in the book's subject matter. Examples of additional content could be multimedia presentations and/or games*, blogs, message boards, surveys, quizzes, mailing lists, etc. This plan also includes a domain name, 1 year of hosting service, and free updates for up to 1 year after publication.

* Any extensive multimedia development that needs to be farmed out will be billed separately. These costs will be discussed and agreed upon during the planning of the site and will never be tacked on as a surprise cost at the end of the project.
